The New Jersey Climate Adaptation Alliance is a network of policymakers, public and private sector practitioners, academics, and NGO and business leaders designed to build climate change preparedness capacity in New Jersey. The Alliance is facilitated by Rutgers University, which provides science and technical support, facilitates the Alliance’s operations and advances its recommendations.
The Alliance has been undertaking a deliberative process to develop recommendations for state and local public policy that will be designed to enhance climate change preparedness and resilience. The Alliance report "Climate Change in New Jersey: Trends and Projections" developed to inform this deliberative process, as well as provide helpful information to the general public, stakeholders and policy makers, has been updated by the State of the Climate: New Jersey. A short brochure "Understanding New Jersey's Vulnerability to Climate Change" can also be found here.
A series of “Working Briefs” in six sectors are available that are designed to provide information about anticipated impacts and risks from climate change in each of these six sectors, potential economic impacts, and leading preparedness practices.
